Thanks to all who worked on this last mini-reunion to be such a success and appreciation to those that were in attendance...we were few but mighty “great”! Who knew that Ben Schaub was human lol...and Lee Giurlanda, I’m glad we look so good to you. You're a man who sees with his heart! I echo Robert Fortson’s comments that it was the people of West High that made it great! Thanks to our fearless leaders...Carl, don’t be thinking of passing the baton...you’ve got a lifetime calling there. Keep up the good work. It’s appreciated. Maybe you can get Mark to make the job “pay off.” John Lumm started the “true confessions.” Who knew? It was so great seeing (not so clearly without my glasses) and visiting with many classmates. Thank you for condolences expressed in my behalf of my recent loss...I felt the love and sincere concern. Until we meet again and I hope it won’t be too long before the next reunion. Best to all, Penny
Eddy Just thinking about when I last saw you you were rushing home to your wife who had fallen and I’m wondering how she is doing I hope everything was OK Sounded kind of scary! Hope all is well. Great to see you at the reunion. Best, Penny
Can’t keep this Canadian from Jordan’s Mexican food no way no how... Count me in! I am registered both days for visiting with former classmates and friends however, I don’t see my name on the list please know I’ll be there. Best, Penny

Sad news to share. My dear husband, John C. Naegle passed away August 15, 2018 after a courageous fight with bladder cancer. He's buried at the veterans Cemetery in medical Lake Wa. All of our children attended his life celebration on August 22, 2018 except for Patricia who came from the Netherlands three weeks early. It was a beautiful service. He is at peace now and free from pain. I am glad I was able to fulfill his last wish to return to his beloved Northwest where skies are blue and there are trees. It is truly God's country. Thank you all for your care and concern and also the birthday wishes for me yesterday. Hope to see you in the new year. Best, Penny

Doing some cleaning of drawers and found some Great memorabilia...here's a poem that made the rounds in the 60s. Thought it might give you a chuckle and bring back memories… Ode to a freshman!
A freshman child is always so shy
She silently longs for the sophomore guy
But the sophomore boy's head is in a whirl admiringly stares at the junior girl
The junior girl in a dashing sedan boldly chases the senior man
But the senior man handsome and wild secretly loves the freshman child.!!!
How many of us wished that this was true?
Nowadays age doesn't matter one bit !
Hope all is well with the Thunderbirds after the reunion. Best, Penny
Connie we missed seeing you at Marilyn's celebration of life yesterday. How great for you to have a surprise visit from your daughter??????? It was wonderful to catch up news with Tom and I did invite you guys to come to Sierra Vista especially when the temperatures in Phoenix start to soar...we are at 5400 elevation so up to 20 degrees cooler....every little bit counts. Don't hesitate to bring Amy... it's not a hard drive and we have all the tours down....like Bisbee for a blast to the past in a '60s time warp. Love to see you and catch up in person. Yesterday was a beautiful sunshiney day with such a special tribute to such a special lady and her family. It was great to see others in attendance. Prayers and best thoughts with the Niver family and to you too. Please keep in touch. Best, Penny

Can't believe that we miss each other after our chat on the phone. There's always Leavenworth… I think I'd be a great Place to meet if we can have Hot German potato salad that tell me soft P-nut Brittle. We are back in Spokane Valley and the temperatures are around 60 right now and hoping to stay that way till Halloween… Within the scary weather hits with snow . I was hoping to be back in the right area so I'm home by the end but time will tell. John's doctors are here in Spokane and they are the best so we will stay keep in touch good you're always welcome here in Spokane Valley or in Sierra Vista ! So sorry we didn't connect but thanks again for the call. Best, Penny
